Scenemakers - Looking for scripts and actors
Apr 21st, 2003, 1:57pm
Scenemakers is Back for its 5th Season!
Scenemakers, the script-reading series for film and television professionals, is pleased to announce that it will return for a fifth season in June of this year.
Founded in 1999 by Michale Raske, Scenemakers has provided writers the chance to hear their scripts-in-development read by professional actors and receive feedback from industry audiences in a supportive, workshop environment.
Below is the scheduled dates of readings for this year, so mark them in your datebook now and plan to attend. All writers, actors, producers, directors, and other film types - whether you're just starting out or have been making movies for years - are invited to join us, as well as the family and friends who support you! Scenemakers is a great place to hear new work, find new talent, meet other indie filmmakers, and help make good scripts even better.
NEW THIS SEASON: Deadlines for submitting scripts to be considered for readings:
This year, we've established two deadlines for writers to submit their scripts. Due to the limited number of spaces available to schedule readings, we're asking writers to get their scripts to us by the following dates:
* April 30th, 2003: for readings between June 2nd and July 28th
* June 30th, 2003: for readings between August 11th and September 29th.
We accept all types and genres of scripts for consideration (shorts, episodic, pilots, features, animation, drama, comedy, action/adventure, etc.), except those with graphic, gratuitous violence.
Please submit your script via email in Word or Final Draft format to: purpler@sympatico.ca. Please put "Scenemakers Submission" in the subject line. Writers whose scripts are accepted will be asked to provide one hard copy of the script in advance of the reading. Please also indicate if you have a preferred date for the reading of your script.
Actors interested in being cast to read at Scenemakers are invited to send in their resumes and headshots. Either email them to: purpler@sympatico.ca or mail to:
